Preliminary Result (E & O E) of the Mackinnon, fired this morning. Teams of 12 shooters, 10 shots at 900 and 1000 yards.
It was a good close match, with the result in doubt most of the way. At 1000 yards, the wind began to pick up, still varying from side to side, which gave the coaches a bit more challenge. It was noticeable that England stopped shooting on a number of occasions, which the other teams ploughed ahead.

He scored 297.41, one point ahead of three others on 296.38. Jim Paton scored 292. More Details later, after the Prize Giving and the visit of the winner to the Pavilion. The cannon is charged!
