The Queen's First Stage and the Conan Doyle were fired yesterday. Only this morning's Prince of Wales (15 at 600 yards) remains to complete the Grand.

Large numbers of concurrent Aggregates were completed as well. I will not attempt to summarise these - you can see the lists on the NRA web site for events that finished on Wednesday 20th July.

The Conan Doyle at 900 yards was the last long range in the Grand. Geoff Woodman was 33rd with 49.8 and Patrick Champagne 84th with 48.6.

Eight Team members have qualified for the Queen's Second Stage on Friday. The cut-off was 101.10, reflecting the rather fickle breezes of yesterday. Those 'in' are: Jim Paton, Barry Langille, Peter Westlake, Patrick Champagne, Scott Murray, Steven Spinney, Geoff Woodman and Fazal Mohideen.

There was some significant shuffling at the top of the Grand. James Corbett from Australia now leads with 626.87, two points ahead of three others on 624. Canadian standing are: 26th Jim Paton 619.79, 74th Patrick Champagne 614.72, 140th Fazal Mohideen 610.67, 174th Stan Frost 608.65, 181th Steven Spinney 608.59, 183 Geoff Woodman 608.58, 190th Tom Walters 607.70. As I write this on Thursday morning, the trees outside are quite still, so not much *may* change after the Prince of Wales.

As far as I can see, there are no Canadian winners of the other aggregates, but you might wish to glance at the Brigadier, Donaldson, Faunthorpe, 500 yards Aggregate, New Zealand, Short Range, Stickledown and Sudan.

This afternoon will see the first of the Team matches -the Overseas for the Canadian other visiting Teams, the A.G. Bell for the Canadian Cadet Bisley Team and the Athelings, and the National for the Home Countries. They will be followed by the Second Stage of the St. George's. Tomorrow morning is the Kolapore, followed in the afternoon by the Queen's Second Stage.

Before we know that it's really started, it's almost over!
